NBC Screwed "Community" Again, and the Cast Knows It

It came as a surprise to virtually no one that NBC canceled the one-joke sitcom Animal Practice, starring Justin Kirk of Weeds and Tyler Labine of Reaper, after just 5 episodes (it's unclear if the one slated for next week will air). For the shows waiting on NBC's bench (almost all of which likely have episodes in the can ready to air), that deserved cancellation represented an opportunity to get started on a delayed season, and Community fans, for a brief second, had a glimpse of hope that NBC might recognize the passionate following the show and it's now absent creator Dan Harmon have and put it on the roster. That didn't happen.

Instead, the suits sided with Whitney Cummings and her painfully unfunny, eponymous show, Whitney. It might not have been meant this way, but any show not being chosen over Whitney is pretty much a slap in the face, and judging by the little video that the Community cast (Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Donald Glover, Gillian Jacobs, Allison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, and even the oft-contentious Chevy Chase) put together, it seems like they're well aware that NBC execs will put anything on the air before Community (even a show dedicated to Annie's Boobs). Check it out below.

Sigh, even a "we got snubbed" video by the folks at Community is funnier than an entire episode of Whitney.
