Let's not kid ourselves here: the first G.I. Joe movie was awful if you didn't view it as anything more than action flick silliness with a loose connection to a beloved toy franchise that's fluctuated in and out of the public consciousness for the last three decades. The next installment in the live-action film series, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, directed by Jon M. Chu and loaded with stars like Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, RZA, Walton, Goggins, Ray Stevenson and more, looks immensely better than its predecessor just based on the trailers alone and it looks like it could be a lot of fun. You know what's even more fun though? Going to the theater dressed as a Joe.
Courtesy of CostumeExpress.com, we're giving away kids Snake Eyes and Jinx costumes with accompanying swords, sais, and gloves. If you want to win, just keep reading.
In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro's G.I. Joe® characters.
I don't know about you, but to me that looks a lot more like the cartoon and comics I remember as a kid than the last one did.
The two separate prizes are a Snake Eyes costume for boys (or girls too, I guess, slice those gender definitions to pieces, parents) and a Jinx costume for girls (or boys, you get the picture). The Snake Eyes costume includes the gloves and sword accessories and the Jinx costume includes the sai accessories.
For a chance to win, you just have to do two things...
1) "Like" JustPressPlay on Facebook
2) E-mail your entry to contest [at] justpressplay [dot] net with the subject line "Got to Get Tough, Yo Joe!" and tell us your favorite G.I. Joe. Also, tell us which of the costumes you'd prefer to win. If you don't care, that's fine too.
Also, you can gain one additional entry (aka chance to win) each day by tweeting this story using the button to the left of this story.
This giveaway ends on March 25th, 2013.
Limit of one e-mail entry per person (with the exception of Tweet entries), any violation of that rule will result in disqualification. Winners will be notified via e-mail used to comment for entry, if the winner fails to respond to the e-mail within seven (7) days, the prize is forfeit and will be offered to the next runner-up. Many will enter, 2 will win, and failure to stipulate which costume you want in your entry means you'll be randomly given one if you win. Prizes may not be exchanged for different prize or format. Must be a US or Canada resident to participate in this giveaway. All e-mails are deleted at close of contest and are not sold or used in mailing lists, because companies that do that are scum.
