Electronica, synth pop, dance punk, alternative, there really isn't one genre that encapsulates the sound of LA's Shiny Toy Guns. Coming off their 2006 break through album, We Are Pilots, which sold over 250,000 copies and spawned a couple of different radio singles, the band hopes to continue their mainstream success with this year's follow up, Season of Poison.
Fans of the band may notice a sharp change in the sound of the band, much of which comes from the recent changing of lead singers. Charah Faye Charnow left the band in the spring and was replaced by former Pussy Cat Doll hopeful Sisley Treasure. The new addition of Treasure marks the third female vocalist to come through the Shiny Toy Guns revolving door of vocalists, if you include original singer Ursula Vari.
The new album, which will be released through Universal Motown, is currently slated for a November 4th release date. You may have heard the first single off of the new album "Ricochet," as it's already making its rounds on rock radio stations. If not check out a clip of the song below.
