Good news for Netflix subscribers, as they've implemented a new shipping process that actually benefits the costumer.
Have you ever had a DVD on top of your queue unavailable or on long wait? When this happens, that means the disc is not available at your nearest shipping center and Netflix has to send one from a different shipping center that's farther away, resulting in longer time for the disc to arrive in your mailbox. With their new system, you'll get a free rental every time this happens.
Now whenever a DVD is unavailable at your local shipping center, Netflix will immediately send the second movie on your queue as a complimentary rental. This isn't the same as with Blockbuster Online where they simply skip the unavailable titles, because Netflix will also send the top title on your queue from another shipping center. So let's say you're on their 1-at-a-time plan, and a "long wait" movie is #1 on your queue, you'll end up getting two movies sent to you.
Sounds like a pretty darn sweet improvement, if you ask me. With this and Instant Watch, I don't think you'll ever be without a movie to watch.
