The United States Postal Service today revealed the commemorative stamps planned for 2009. Among the many new stamps that will be available, from famous politicians to lighthouses, is a set dedicated to famous characters and moments from classic television shows, called the "Early TV Memories" stamps.

The shows commemorated are Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet; Alfred Hitchcock Presents; Dinah Shore Show; Dragnet; Ed Sullivan Show; George Burns & Gracie Allen Show; Hopalong Cassidy; The Honeymooners; Howdy Doody; I Love Lucy; Kukla, Fran and Ollie; Lassie; The Lone Ranger; Perry Mason; Phil Silvers Show; Red Skelton; Texaco Star Theater; Tonight Show; Twilight Zone; and, You Bet Your Life.

The Hitchcock and Rod Sterling ones look pretty badass. What? I like to collect these things. I'm pretty sure that's not a crime, unless I use them to mail death threats.

In addition, next year will also see the release of Gary Cooper, Bob Hope and Edgar Allan Poe stamps, all pictured below.
