Top 10 Fantasy Games for Xbox Live

Xbox Live Arcade is one of the best things in gaming today. With such hits as Banjo Kazooie, Castle Crashers, Braid, Small Arms, A Kingdom of Keiflings and Duke Nukem it’s easy to see why many people love the online games. While I was looking through the library and looking for something worth my points I started to thinking, what would totally kick ass on XBL? So I thought up 10 games that if put on XBL would put a serious hurt on the competition, while some are possible I know a few will be more than unlikely. Like I said this is a fantasy and I know some will agree and some will disagree, but in the end this is my list so in the comments leave yours if you like.

Here we go…

10. Parappa the Rapper

Look, I know a lot of people didn’t really like this game, but it is fun and the online play would be cool as hell. The game was fresh, new and unique. It had crazy rhymes and opponents that were weird but interesting. Come on you get to rap battle a ninja onion dude, isn’t that sweet on its own?

9. Dino Crisis

It is a damn good game. Dino Crisis took a new approach to survival horror and added the twist of live dinosaurs pouncing on you. The most fearsome of all, the raptor being enemy number one here is scary as hell. Regina being a redheaded vixen, is as sexy as she is dangerous and uses a great array of weapons. Dino Crisis is a tough game, but a fun one and would be awesome on XBL.

8. Conker’s Bad Fur Day

We are all aware of the less than fabulous redux done for the original Xbox that essentially somewhat bombed, but don’t underestimate the game itself. With Bad Fur Day on XBL you need to imagine the awesome scale of online play and the array of new match types they potentially could create. It was the rudest game of it’s time and deserves credit. The game is funny and dirty, I mean where else can you find a flower with Double D tits you bounce on? The game is raunchy and it has a drunk scarecrow named Birdy! What else could be better?

7. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I know, this is out of the ballpark fantasy, but hey the goddamn Arizona Cardinals are in the Conference Championship aren’t they? This would require Nintendo selling the rights to the game to Microsoft which will not happen even if Nintendo goes freakin bankrupt. But, let us live in lala land and imagine it. Think alone of the achievements you could get? Some cool ones. Ocarina of Time is one of the best Zelda games ever if not the best itself. You could even make a co-op system if you wanted to which would just be amazing as well. [sigh] We can all dream can’t we?

6. Altered Beast

Not a whole lot of people will remember this Sega Genesis game, but it was kickass. You were risen from the grave to save a God’s daughter and through your ventures you would grow more powerful and would assume the identity of beast’s with awesome power. You could be things like, wolfmen, tigermen, griffins (I think), bearmen and some others. The game itself was hard, but enjoyable. The fights were fun and the game was basic but was straight to the point badassness. If you have a Sega and don’t have this game you’re missing out. It will run you $5 to $10 at the most at any Mom and Pop game shop.

5. F-Zero X

With so many racing games today that lack the fun of the race, F-Zero X puts a punch to the race. With futuristic races, kickass background music and shit loads of racers to choose from, this would bode well on XBL. Think of it, you and 40 other people could race online against one another. It would be a dream and a fight for survival on pretty much all the tracks within the game. While I doubt this would make it on XBL it is a longshot that has possibility.

4. Silent Hill 2

You cannot leave out one of the scariest games ever made. Silent Hill 2 personifies fear and interest with its deep story and depressing characters. The endings alone are just scary along with the information you uncover throughout the game which to this day still haunts my ass from time to time. The story is as scary as it is intriguing and does not let up on the horror. This game would give some awesome achievements and is worth every penny if it somehow found its way onto XBL.

3. Resident Evil 2

Profoundly one of the best survival horror games ever made. RE2 gave us the best known characters of the world of Resident Evil and the T-Virus. Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield are two of the most badass characters created within the genre and defined horror on a tough to measure scale. If a new button system was created for the game to work for the 360 controller this would easily be one of the most bought games in XBL history.

2. Super Metroid

Yet again with the wishes, it seems like I could have put every game made from the Super Smash Brothers characters. Super Metroid is simply badass in everyway conceivable. Samus Aran caught many people off guard when it was exposed that she was in fact, a she. From the huge level the game had to fighting Ridley, Samus’s arch nemesis. From start to finish this game is full of action and kickass fighting and is bar none one of the best side scrolling games ever made. If it made its way onto the XBL by some poker loss by Nintendo we would all cream our pants.

And number one on the list will be a bit controversial to some, but to me it is a game that would be great on XBL for many reasons, a great story, some of the best multiplayer ever and would be simply amazing in online gameplay…here is number one…

1. Goldeneye 64

I don’t care what anyone says, I still play the multiplayer and the game is over 10 years old. From shooting a guy in the head while he’s on the crapper to running the gauntlet on the Cradle to stop Alec (006) this game has it all. Just imagine the online gameplay here and the achievements you could get. The weapons, the ladies, the end of the world scenario what else is better? I say nothing. Goldeneye 64 is one of the greatest multiplayer games ever created.
