VIDEO: Georges St-Pierre's 'MMA Punch Out' and 'MMA Street Fighter II'

mma_punchoutBoxing is slowly and surely getting nudged out of the ring in favor of mixed martial arts. Guess folks are tired of confusing weight classes, Jim Lampley, and Don King's freaky deaky hair. Instead, they want head kicking, triangle chokes, and Dana White's cue ball head.

So it's no surprise that anything boxing touched over the last couple of decades, MMA is claiming as its own. And what is the most prized possession boxing has in its extensive history? You guessed it: Mike Tyon's Punch Out for NES.

Props to YouTube user 'lookoutawhale' and Riddum Revenge for this modern update of an 8-bit classic featuring UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre and former UFC competitor Jay Hieron.

As a bonus, we've got lookoutawhale and Riddum Revenge's follow-up parody, MMA Street Fighter II. Not as good as the Punch Out mock, but still creative enough to warrant respect.
