Earlier this week Polly Scattergood, a new British singer/songwriter signed to the famed Mute Records, released her eponymous debut album. Word is that Scattergood is unique enough to pique some interest, even if her debut has been getting a pretty lukewarm response. Check out the Blair Young directed video for the infectious "Please Don't Touch" below.
It's an interesting enough video that does its best to showcase Scattergood's pretty face. The song is catchy, and her low key wispy voice is a winner at least on the few songs I've heard from her. The main complaint with her debut though has been the sophomoric, bleeding heart lyrics and the layers of gloss that apparently cover up the charm of her songwriting on most the album. Still Scattergood is a talent that would probably be worth keeping an eye on in the future. If you're one of our readers who live across the pond, you can check out Scattergood at the UK's Dot to Dot Festival this weekend.
