It came from E3 and it came on strong. Microsoft has taken its proverbial punch at its biggest competitor, the Nintendo Wii. "Project Natal" is full range motion capture; and I mean FULL RANGE. It blows the Wii out of the water. The system will operate with you as the controller. This is among the many other things that Microsoft has added in and will add upon to its 360.
Let us start out big and get to the meat of this whole deal. The motion capture. To fully understand how awesome it is, you must see it happen; and here is the video to show it to you.
Amazing, isn't it? I know the cost will probably be quite high but at the same time I want to skate like that! That isn't all though. The 360 will have Facebook and Twitter fully intertwined into the system as early as this coming fall. You'll be able to update your status and tweet, or whatever it is the Twitter loons are calling it this week. Along with this, they are looking to add in live television feeds as well as 1080p HD for the system too.
In terms of games, they showed off big sequels and a new psychological thriller: the open world police style uber-human game Crackdown 2, a New Orleans infested by zombies in Left 4 Dead 2, the next game in the saga Splinter Cell: Conviction, sleek sexy racing with Forza Motorsports 3, and the fresh psycho-thrill that will be Alan Wake.
All in all, it looks like Microsoft is pulling out the guns and aiming right at Nintendo to try to gain the upper hand with the new motion capture, as well as new add-ons for the system itself. Microsoft wants to be number 1 and if everything goes as planned, it could happen.
