Thom Yorke Forms New Band

80s_filterRadiohead frontman Thom Yorke released his first, and to date only, solo album in 2006. That album was the low-key, electronic drenched The Eraser; a solo effort that was generally praised by both critics and fans alike. Yet Yorke's obligations to his full time job as lead singer of Radiohead had, for the most part, kept him from being able to share his solo material on stage. Never before had Yorke embarked on a solo tour, and very rarely has he ever played a solo set. A recent blog post by Yorke himself though promises at least a couple dates for the singer to share his solo work in front of an audience, alongside none other than Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

According to Yorke's blog post, his newly formed band, which is yet to be officially named, will be playing two shows at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theater. Along with the Eraser songs, the band will also be playing new material. According to Yorke the "set will not be very long cuz ..well ...we haven't got that much material yet!"

The other members of the new group will be Nigel Godrich, who produced The Eraser, Joey Wanoker and Mauro Refosco. To read the full blog post go here.
