I've been really enjoying At the Movies ever since its latest makeover. After a disastrous run with the two Bens that tried to steer the show into moronic infotainment territory, the show rebuilt itself with The New York Times' A.O. Scott and The Chicago Tribune's Michael Phillips, both excellent writers (and excellent fill-ins for Ebert when Roeper was on by himself) that proved to be very entertaining together. What's also fun is their web exclusives, discussing film stuff that maybe don't fit into their usual programming. This week, it's a review of Lars von Trier's Antichrist.
I wonder if the decision to not do this on the air has to do with the film itself, but I'm glad they did it for the web. "See it, but with 17 asterisks." These two are the most fun when they argue candidly (check out their Zombieland review from a couple of weeks back), and when they really get going, it's better than Ebert/Roeper and almost as good as Ebert/Siskel.
