Many game franchises have come and go and some that are simply fantastic unfortunately meet their untimely end. So going through many games and sorting through the good ones I found that a Capcom classic that doesn't get enough hype is Dino Crisis.
Among the great horror games (Resident Evil, Silent Hill) Dino Crisis never got its due process past the Playstation. Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 both were fantastic if not better than Resident Evil 2 they were at minimum on the same level. RE has prided itself on the fear of the unknown and unexplainable (Zombies, Lickers, Las Plagas virus) while Dino Crisis went with if Jurassic Park had happened but without any old man making it via DNA. The story was beautifully written and for the time the graphics were on a high par. The only attempt at another installment of the Dino Crisis series was a very bland poorly written Dino Crisis 3 which takes place in the future and has a storyline that falls apart faster than a Uwe Boll movie.
The point of this is simply when they make remakes for games or throw another super-hero game idea out there (Superman Returns, Spiderman: Web of Shadows, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Transformers, etc...). Games that would look simply amazing with today's graphics are very rarely remade. One of the few eceptions to this is Deus Ex. When games are looked at to be remade or redux style they look at sales and whats big for the current times. During 1998 and 2000 survival horror was on a big trip and Dino Crisis got its chance and in my opinion hit it out of the park. With Dinosaurs and strong storyline and red headed vixen Regina as the lead character it did very well.
In general, games that would look and play wonderfully on new gen systems aren't always considered due to trying to make a quick buck (i.e. the Playstation Move and Microsoft's Project Natal). Games are made for nearly every movie that comes out, I mean honestly who cares about the game Coraline or Beowolf? Games at times deserve to get their due process I mean after over a decade they finally decided to make that long awaited Duke Nukem finally didn't they?
