If you were a fan of the recently passed Leslie Nielsen, you might want to consider donating to the Starkey Hearing Foundation, an organization whose cause he trumpeted more than once or twice. Each year, the Foundation’s goal is to deliver more than 100,000 hearing aids. Within the next decade, the Foundation aims to donate a total of one million hearing aids. “Leslie was a true champion of the Starkey Hearing Foundation,” stated Bill Austin, founder of the Starkey Hearing Foundation. “He understood the value of hearing and was dedicated to helping children and adults hear better, to improve their quality of life. We are deeply saddened by his passing and will miss our dear friend.”
All Leslie Nielsen honorarium donations made between now and the end of 2010 will go towards a special tribute to Nielsen when the Starkey Hearing Foundation carries out their annual Superbowl Hearing Aid Mission.
