Mondo, the group that creates some of the coolest movie-inspired artwork you could ever ask to hang on your wall, has chosen its next victim in the Director's series: Wes Craven, of Scream fame. Is it a coincidence that it seems to correlate perfectly with the Scream franchise's return to the screen after 11 years? Probably not. The two pieces in Craven's series were created by artist Alex Pardee, and both are limited edition prints of 140 at $35 each. If you're familiar with Mondo at all, you know these things sell faster than really well-drawn hotcakes. The Wes Craven series goes on sale April 14. You've been warned.
So which murderous icons of Craven's killer repertoire have been immortalized in Mondo art? Hit the jump to find out...
First up it's Ghostface from Scream (how fitting)...

And then Freddy from A Nightmare on Elm Street.

It seems only fitting that two of the most iconic horror presences of the last 40 years should finally get the Mondo treatment. And while I personally prefer Scream over any of the Nightmare films (somewhat blasphemous, I know), I can't help but say that the art for A Nightmare on Elm Street is incredibly cooler thanks to the details thrown in (gushed out?).
