It's been five and half years since the original F.E.A.R. game debuted in 2005, and two years since its sequel F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin was fresh in our minds (where it played mean little games). To help get fans of the franchise ready and back in the right frame of mind for the upcoming F.E.A.R. 3, they've released this recap trailer that retraces the events of the first two games. Arguably it could work as a substitute for playing them if you wanted to just jump in here, but you shouldn't do that. For people who enjoy horror movies and FPS, the F.E.A.R. series is like a highly concentrated horror movie experience that you get to participate in by blowing away the shadows that jump out at you.

I'm not a huge fan of FPS games, but playing these games is the most enjoyment I ever get from a horror-based franchise, in films or games. As long as they keep the tension high, I'll probably keep playing.
