Music Video Spotlight: Twin Atlantic

Their album Free, from producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies, Jimmy Eat World), released digitally today via Red Bull Records, and so we thought we take the time to look at a few of Twin Atlantic's music videos, including their latest for the album's eponymous single. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland,, Twin Atlantic's music offers a pretty solid serving of the country's highly recognizable accent, courtesy of lead vocalist Sam McTrusty, and it's one of the most interesting parts of their sound. Consequently, all of their vocals have a twist that plays differently on the American ear, so accustomed to hearing accent-free vocalists. Twin Atlantic consists of Sam McTrusty (vocals, guitar), Barry McKenna (guitar, cello, backing vocals), Ross McNae (bass, backing vocals) and Craig Kneale (drums).

For three of their videos, hit the jump.

First up is "Free", admittedly the least impressive video of the bunch, as it's little more than a glamor shot music video: all about helping potential fans stare at the band for three minutes to increase facial recognition down the road (though there's a bit of this in all their music videos).

Next up is "Lightspeed" which is probably one of the more visually interesting videos they put together.

Finally, we have "What is Light? What is Laughter?"

He's a TV junkie with a penchant for watching the same movie six times in one sitting. If you really want to understand him you need to have grown up on Sgt. Bilko, Alien, Jurassic Park and Five Easy Pieces playing in an infinite loop. Recommend something to him - he'll watch it.
