New "Rage" Gameplay Trailer Debuts on Machinima

Rage, the upcoming first-person shooter from id Software (Quake, Doom), debuted a substantial gameplay trailer on Machinima today. The game is currently slotted for a September 13th ship date through Bethesda Softworks and boasts a whole new graphics engine (id Tech 5) courtesy of id's resident genius John Carmack. Judging from the gameplay footage in the trailer below, Rage is easily one of the more detailed and beautifully rendered FPS I've seen in ages. If you're computer is more than 2 years old and isn't custom built...good luck. Console owners delight.

For the brand new gameplay trailer as well as a few other we've gathered together, hit the jump.

I have to say I dig the minimalist HUD the game opted for. Having it pop up as needed is better than a permanent fixture obscuring corners of the viewing field. Especially since the player in that video kind of sucks. Up next is the official Rage "Dead City" Gameplay Trailer rolled out just a couple weeks back, courtesy of VisoGames.

And finally, the Rage "Untethered" trailer, also from VisoGames.

He's a TV junkie with a penchant for watching the same movie six times in one sitting. If you really want to understand him you need to have grown up on Sgt. Bilko, Alien, Jurassic Park and Five Easy Pieces playing in an infinite loop. Recommend something to him - he'll watch it.
