"Green Lantern" Prep: 42 New Images

In this summer of superheroes, the silver screen is getting awfully crowded with caped and non-caped crusaders alike (mostly non). With X-Men: First Class now open, Green Lantern is the next one in line for its theatrical release in two weeks. Martin Campbell's take on Hal Jordan's transformation from jet jockey to intergalactic hero seems promising, and the images from the film Warner Brothers released today only make it look better. Personally, Green Lantern seems to look better in stills than when it's playing out on a screen; maybe it's because I'm not sold yet on the realism of the non-human members of the Lantern Corps, or maybe it just takes getting used to. Whatever the case, the images should get you pretty excited. Click on any of the images below and they'll enlarge (without forcing you to go to another screen).

Green Lantern opens on June 17th and stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, and the voices of Geoffrey Rush & Michael Clarke Duncan.

He's a TV junkie with a penchant for watching the same movie six times in one sitting. If you really want to understand him you need to have grown up on Sgt. Bilko, Alien, Jurassic Park and Five Easy Pieces playing in an infinite loop. Recommend something to him - he'll watch it.
