Focus Features has released the latest trailer for the upcoming romantic drama One Day starring Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe), and Patricia Clarkson (Easy A) releasing on August 19, 2011. We've got the trailer below along with a gallery of photos they've just released. From the director of An Education, Lone Scherfig, One Day tells the story of a couple, together and apart, by sampling the same day (July 15th) throughout the years. It's an interesting concept, though the idea unto itself requires a hefty suspension of disbelief but I'm sure the romantics among us will forgive it. Although considering how well An Education was constructed, I have faith Scherfig will find a way to make the idea palatable.

Here's the official synopsis:

After one day together – July 15th, 1988, their college graduation – Emma Morley (Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway) and Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess of “Across the Universe”) begin a friendship that will last a lifetime. She is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground. For the next two decades, key moments of their relationship are experienced over several July 15ths in their lives. Together and apart, we see Dex and Em through their friendship and fights, hopes and missed opportunities, laughter and tears.

He's a TV junkie with a penchant for watching the same movie six times in one sitting. If you really want to understand him you need to have grown up on Sgt. Bilko, Alien, Jurassic Park and Five Easy Pieces playing in an infinite loop. Recommend something to him - he'll watch it.
