Anchor Bay has recently released the trailer and one sheet for the latest action flick from Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, 12 Rounds), 5 Days of War which hits theaters on August 19th. The film stars Rupert Friend (The Young Victoria, Jolene), Emmanuelle Chriqui ("Entourage"), and Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) as three people caught in the 5-day warzone created by the Russia-Georgian Republic conflict of 2008. Renny Harlin's track record is spotty and his films tend to vary wildly in quality. At least here he's got a talented group of young actors to lead the film with seasoned pros like Val Kilmer (MacGruber, Tombstone), Andy Garcia (City Island, Ocean's Eleven), and Heather Graham (The Hangover) to bolster the film. However he's wasted lineups better than this (see: Cleaner, Mindhunters), so it'll be interesting to see how it panned out.
Here's the official synopsis:
A vivid account of a renegade American journalist, his cameraman and a local woman caught behind enemy lines, and determined to not only survive, but tell the world what was happening, during the swift but devastating 5-day war between Russian and the Georgian Republic in 2008.
