Did it never occur to anyone to outlaw the Ghostface mask? For whatever reason it seems to inevitably lead to a long string of meta hyper-self-aware homicides and you can't help but wonder why the company that makes the mask hasn't been sued within the world of Scream a dozen times over. How many murders committed by a guy in a Ghostface mask does it take for the courts to accept that there is some cultural link? Lives and millions of dollars could be saved by just ceasing production on that one mask. Then again, maybe it's better they haven't, because while not the best entry in the franchise, Scream 4 wasn't half bad. It was easily better than Scream 3, and in the end, isn't that the main requirement fans have for the franchise now? if Wes Craven's franchise can keep that pace up, then fans will probably go back as many times as he wants.
On October 4th, Scream 4 slashes its way to DVD and Blu-ray (exactly what is standing between it and release that requires slashing, I'm not sure) and in honor of every 90s movie star that fell at Ghostface's hand, we're giving away a copy on DVD.
Directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven, SCREAM 4 is the newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s. In SCREAM 4, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale (Courteney Cox), who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghost Face, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends (Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin) and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.
