Ye Be But Pawns in My Thrifty Game of Chess

Times have changed and the economy is suffering, and one of the seldom discussed effects of this financial quagmire is that the dreams of children have become much more modest. Where once they dreamed of being astronauts, doctors, and rock stars, they now dream of being low-level management at marketing firms, gas station managers, and pawn shop owners. Neigh, not mere pawn shop owners, Pawn Stars, gods among the mortals who sell their prized wares for a few scraps of cash. These Cadillacs of men will negotiate you down from lofty expectations of receiving the market price of your priceless candelabra to hoping for a third of its value at best. Truly they are as gods that bought your limited edition vinyl collection for 30 cents on the dollar. The world stands in awe, just as they have for three far.

Are you a fan of Pawn Stars? Want to win their third season on DVD? Then keep reading to find out how you can win a copy.

The history of money-lending dates back thousands of years.  Long before the HISTORY® hit series Pawn Stars, pawnbrokers helped people make ends meet by providing loans in exchange for personal items of value.  And, there is no better example of today’s pawnbrokers than the Harrison family’s Gold and Silver Pawn shop on the outskirts of Las Vegas – the modern day Mecca for people in need of quick cash.  Here, three generations of Harrison men clash with friendly camaraderie over items from classic cars to samurai swords and, here, everything has a history, and everything has a price.  And you never know what’s going to walk through the door…
