Alanis Morissette Announces "Guardian Angel" 2012 Tour Dates

After her album Jagged Little Pill catapulted her to superstar status in the mid-90s, Alanis Morissette went on to a variety of impressive things, and even made the occasional venture into acting (starting off with a role as God). Since then, she's released four albums, with a fifth debuting a week from today: Havoc and Bright Lights. In celebration of the new album release, Alanis is setting out on her Guardian Angel tour that kicks off at Humphrey's in San Diego on September 24th and (so far) will last through October.

For a full list of tour dates, as well as a statement from Alanis herself on her career thus far and the tour's importance, just keep reading.

Here's the official statement from Alanis:

The songs from the last 17 years are blending together like great friends. Thankfully, there is timelessness in their content and passion, for me! The show covers the gamut of every chord choice and every emotion I have ever felt. I am spent afterwards, happily so. I am thrilled to be able to play and tour with my family, blending my personal and artistic fulfillment into one sweaty, feisty, expressed, communal traveling circus!" says Morissette. "I look forward to connecting with everyone face to face, as well as through the many social networks of this exciting new climate.

The Guardian Angel Tour 2012 will showcase songs off her forthcoming album, including the current hit "Guardian," as well as classics from her acclaimed previous releases. Starting in San Diego, CA on September 24th, the tour brings Alanis to all parts of North America through November 1st where it will conclude in Phoenix, AZ. Tickets for the general public are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.
