Apple Gearing Up To Release Game Console?

apple-console

Microsoft. Nintendo. Sony. Apple?

The idea may not be so far fetched. The so-called evil empire that Steve Jobs built has been busy behind the scenes, and all the evidence points to making a run at the Game Industry.

This is Why I Love the Wii

People ask me why I play my Wii way more than my Xbox 360 or that PS3 I still don't own, despite Nintendo's obvious shortcomings in graphics advancement and the console's epic lack of hot titles in which you get to play awesomely badass men who awesomely blow people's heads off in badass ways. The answer is simple. For all of 360 and PS3 games' astounding storytelling, realistic FPS, immersive RPGs and HD graphics, the fact of the matter is that the Wii has games that look like they were conceived exclusively as placebo for pill-popping game show hosts going through rehab. Case in point:

More "Fallout 3" DLC To Come?

fallout3

With all three of the DLC for Fallout 3 now out, there has been rumor and talks of there being more possible DLC to come. This comes on the heels of Broken Steel, which allows you to go to level 30 and gets rid of the awful ending where you or Sarah Lyons die and is followed by a sequence telling your tale (lame, I know).

In OXM's talk with Bethesda PR rep Pete Hines, he says the DLC has been "hugely successful." So that leaves us with what the hell else can Bethesda do for this gravy train?

Who Else Could Go "Rock Band" After Beatles?

beatles-rock-bandSince Guitar Hero: Metallica has dropped, that means Rock Band had to try to one-up GH and has pulled out some major guns with the announcement of Beatles: Rock Band.

The songs will be from the upcoming re-mastered album that is set to drop on Sept 9th 2009 which is also the same day that the game itself releases too. Beatles: Rock Band, made so you can keep your drummer in obscurity as well. Well the real thing here is that this is one hell of a precedent when you think about it. With AC/DC, The Beatles and Metallica out there and have their own game what other bands could fall in line with this trend?

Through my research and guessing ability I possess (as well as a crystal ball I got for $5 at a local thrift store), I have found 5 bands that I think have the best chance of lunging themselves at these music making phenoms.

Apple's New Update Will Cost You More Money

If you own an iPhone or iPod Touch, beware this: your upcoming update will cost you mad money if you're a downloadaholic.

With Apple's new update, it is going to allow all games developers to charge for any and all DLC (downloadable content). This may make you queasy, and it should. I always thought of Apple as the Anti-Microsoft—the good guys if you must—but apparently they have bit on the almighty dollar a little too much here. By allowing game-makers to charge for whatever DLC they make, it could allow certain fears to arise. And they are pretty damn scary when you think about it.

Nintendo raising the Wii's price in England. America Next?

That's right people! Nintendo is now raising the price of the Wii's it sells to English retailers. If you look online, at say Craigslist, people knowing the demand of the product are trying to over price it to make a profit off of it. I even saw one being sold for some $400 and it was just the system - that's 32 flavors of bullsh*t! But apparently Nintendo is now putting retailers in England in a tough spot: while they have increased their own shipping prices they have not increased their suggested retail price, which is altogether weird in a way. The reason for the hike though, is of course due to the economy and how badly the good ol' red coats are hurtin'.
