Like most publications, JustPressPlay regularly receives free products/services from publishers for review purposes, which includes but not limited to DVDs/Blu-rays, CDs, books and access to preview materials. For theatrical movie reviews, it is common for our writers to be invited to free press or advanced screenings of movies, in order to write about them.

None of this influences the outcome of our coverage.

For the most part, this is limited to the reviews in our review sections. When we highlight or promote certain products in our articles/blog posts, it is based on the writer's personal interest and not for any payments or rewards—unless otherwise explicitly stated in the article.

A look ahead to Madden 2010, trying to predict the 09 Draft
Written by Sean Anthony
Saturday, 31 January 2009

Seeing that we have the Steelers and the Cardinals facing off in the Superbowl this coming Sunday, we all know as football fans that there is one last thing to look forward to until next NFL season, the draft. Seeing how EA develops Madden I thought it would be fun to try to out predict them in a 2009 NFL mock draft to see who will be where in the next Madden game. So let us see if we have the correct draft here people. With each draft pick I will sight a reason why as well as what I believe their rating to be in Madden 2010. I will only do the 1st round and then 5 years from now we can point out the Tom Brady's I missed in the 5-7th round. To start it off I will start with the first draft pick which is the...

Weekly Doses of Villainy: Live from McDonalds
Written by Lex Walker
Tuesday, 20 January 2009

Preface: Fast-food is really bad for you. If that isn’t enough of a deterrent, the people working at McDonalds are as likely to serve you as kill you. That’s a real statistic. Oh, and as always, this conversation will make me come across as an asshole - but you'll find it's justified.

Premise: I attempt to order 10 four-piece nuggets, the server’s brain explodes.

A letter to Zounds! Christian game reviewer Kyle Goldman
Written by Sean Anthony
Tuesday, 06 January 2009

Warning: This post contains touchy subjects such as religion, sexuality and various vulgar words being used. If you are someone who is easily offended stay away from this post or read it and just know that it is a rant against a ridiculous human being who "reviews" games without playing them - choosing instead to degrade them based on a religious lens.

You have been warned…

Some Of My Game Peeves
Written by Jason Craig
Wednesday, 24 December 2008

So Michael and I finished up Need For Speed: Undercover last night.  The game itself angry-face-tnpretty much sucked, especially for a NFS title.  Horrible gameplay, story and the list goes on and on and on.

Follow me down my path of questions and complaints and see if you agree.

Who wants to hit President Bush with a shoe?
Written by Sean Anthony
Thursday, 18 December 2008

While Iraqi journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi missed both his tosses at our oh so giggly Prez you can make your mark where he barely missed. This is all in part to PopJam who decided to make this lovely game after Pres. Bush's unfortunate press room malfunction. You can play the game and try to hit George the stutterer as much as you'd like.

If you think we should host something else, we'd love to hear from you.  Feel free to post in our forums, or use our contact page.

Have fun!

The Kottonmouth Kontroversy
Written by Matt Medlock
Thursday, 06 November 2008

kmk1Last week, I posted my review for the new Kottonmouth Kings album, The Green Album. It was not a good album and I expressed my distaste in my criticism. I assumed that would have been the end of it. After all, it was something like my thirtieth (guess-timation) review for the site, and I had thus far only received one comment on all of them. The comment by “adam” for Secret Machines disagreed with my analysis, but he offered his own opinion in a civil manner (and even called my writing “eloquent”). I respected his own observations, saw why he liked it more than I, and replied to his differing view politely. And that was it.

But with The Green Album, I have apparently struck a nerve with some people (I assume that they’re all fans). Not only did the review get commented upon, but the posts kept pouring in. At the time of writing this, there have been six angry responses and a handful of defenses and/or stunned reactions from the JustPressPlay staff.
