It's the Funniest Three-Way You'll Ever Win...

comedy3way_banner

...unless you live in Clownsterdam, Germany. Some crazy shit happens there. Anyways, you're probably pretty happy with your life, we'll just give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. You could be happier though, I mean, couldn't we all stand to be a little bit happier? And instead of gorging yourself on some chocolate to release those precious endorphins that send you off to mental bliss, why not pursue something with a few less calories - like comedy? That's right, none of the calories and all of the endorphins. It's a win-win. Unless you really like chocolate. The chocolate substitute we're proposing is comedians Chris Hardwick, Anthony Jeselnik, and Amy Schumer and their latest respective stand-up DVD releases.

To get those endorphins flowing we're giving away a three-pack which includes Chris Hardwick's Mandroid, Anthony Jeselnik's Caligula, and Amy Schumer's Mostly Sex Stuff, so if you want to get your hands on this endorphin-releasing set, just keep reading.

We'd Like to Introduce You to David Geffen, Via DVD at Least

david_geffen_banner

It's easy to forget sometimes just how intertwined all the various entertainment industries, from music to movies and beyond, really are, but no story better sums up how success in one can lead to a media empire throughout than that of David Geffen. His work in the music industry saw him pioneer labels for bands held dear by many today, like the Eagles, and led him to become one of the three men behind the increasingly stalwart Dreamworks which most would recognize as the studio behind Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and more. The tale of his success is told exceptionally well in the feature-length PBS documentary American Masters: Inventing David Geffen and it's worth watching even if you have little in the entertainment biz at all - it's just that good of a story.

To help you get better acquainted with Mr. Geffen, we're giving away a copy of the documentary on DVD, and if you want to find out how you can win it, just keep reading.

The Next Best Thing to "Being Human"? Winning "Being Human" on Blu-ray

being_humans2_banner

It takes a well-written series to ensure that the premise of a ghost, a vampire, and a werewolf living in the same house doesn't just become a really bad "Monster Mash" joke, and for the most part both the original British series and the SyFy adaptation of Being Human have managed to do just that, albeit each in their own way. With it's third season just recently begun, you still have time to get caught up on the second season without having too big of a backlog of the current season's episodes on your DVR (or however you watch it). Being the pro-werewolf-vampire-ghost-co-habitation humans that we are, we encourage people to keep up with Being Human, and to help you do that we're giving away a copy of the second season on Blu-ray.

To find out how you can win it, just keep reading.

Let Animals Teach Your Kids to Read and Do Math, What Could Go Wrong?

leapfrog_shapeville_Banner

Do you ever wonder if children taught math, grammar, colors, shapes, etc. by animated animals develop inferiority complexes as they realize they know less than animals that otherwise spend their days running around in circles, fetching chew toys, and chasing cars? Let's hope not, because if they do I worry what these two LeapFrog DVDs are going to do to their self-esteem. Instead, let's assume that children never think that deep on the subject and that they don't care where they learn math and reading skills from. That's a happier thought. And in that line of thinking, let's get your children learning from some more quadrapeds with two Leapfrog DVDs that you can win.

Experience the Drama Before the Disaster: Win "Titanic: Blood & Steel" on Blu-ray

titanic_blood_Steel_banner

History books are so damned pessimistic. All they ever bother remembering about amazing engineering accomplishments like the Hindenberg and the Titanic are how they ended in catastrophe. And that's just not fair. People worked really hard to make those disasters possible. To simply ignore those efforts because we want to hold up the finished project as an example of what happens when man lets ego trump prudent design, well that's just unfair. Perhaps it's for that reason that someone went and made Titanic: Blood & Steel, a mini-series dedicated to the construction of the vessel that would go on to net James Cameron a whole lot of money...err...we mean sink to the ocean in a stunning loss of life and twisted steel. There we go, being all pessimistic again. That series, starring Derek Jacobi, Never Campbell, and Chris Noth, is now available on Blu-ray.

If you're a Titanic enthusiast and want to find out how to win a copy, read on.

Win a Trip to Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" on Us

cosmopolis_Banner

For most guys, getting a haircut is a pretty simple affair and unless you're doing something fancy can probably be covered for less than $20. In David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, however, it's a far more complicated affair that takes many twists and turns. Robert Pattinson stars as powerful business magnate navigating a busy day where countless errands and unexpected events seem to collide in a way that could sink his billions of dollars. Cronenberg's films have a tendency to polarize audiences, but Cosmopolis does that two-fold: even Cronenberg fans won't all agree on whether Cosmopolis is a brilliant, simply told story ripe with complication or a mess.

We'll let you decide though, and to help with that we're giving away a Blu-ray copy of Cosmopolis. To find out how to win it, just keep reading.

Contest: "Easter" Came Early This Year, and in HD

easter_isle_banner

Ever wonder about those statues on Easter Island? Where they came from? How they got to where they stand today? PBS put together a special dedicated to answer questions such as those and for any history buffs, or even the engineering-inclined, it's a nice little presentation. And even though Easter is a few months off yet, thus making it hard to turn this into some sort of seasonally appropriate contest, we're going to give out a copy of Mystery of Easter Island on Blu-ray.

Holiday Giveaway: Have a Mighty Morphin Christmas, Hanukkah, etc.

mmpr_banner

Holidays that lack the ability to transform into a secondary more powerful version of themselves don't really interest me. What would Christmas be without the almighty Rudolphzord summoned by Santa in times of extreme peril (like an egg nog shortage)? And would anyone care about Hanukkah if not for the Menorahzord's annual fight against the powers of darkness threatening to extinguish the miraculous oil of hope? Or what about the Kwanzaa Ranger and his...Okay, I really don't know enough about Kwanzaa to make a bad Power Rangers related joke. My apologies. But maybe you will after you win the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Complete Series box set from us (that would really only help you with the Power Rangers part of the joke, you'd likely still need to Wikipedia Kwanzaa unless you celebrate it).

Holiday Giveaway: You Can't Make Christmas Cookies Without "Butter"

butter_banner

Butter gets a pretty bum rap these days. Okay, so it's not the healthiest of foodstuffs out there, but at least it's not quite as awful as high fructose corn syrup or heroin. That has to count for something right? And have you ever tried to carve a life-size replica of Harriet Tubman's underground railroad from high fructose corn syrup? You can't do it. You just can't. Go ahead and try, but you can't. Maybe if you freeze it, but even then I don't think it'll last very long. Unlike Butter. Perhaps that's why it's appropriate this culinary constant received a comedic send up in Director Jim Field Smith's Butter, starring Ty Burrell, Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Garner, Ashley Greene, Alicia Silverstone, Hugh Jackman, and the young Yara Shahidi.

This heartwarming (and possibly heart clogging) comedy is now out on Blu-ray and DVD, and we're giving away a Blu-ray copy just in time for the holidays. If you want it, keep reading to find out how you can win it.

Holiday Giveaway: Take Your USB Where No USB Has Gone Before

star_trek_mimoco_banner

Do you often dream of exploring the vast, dark reaches of space but then remember you can't because you just have too much data and no way to carry it with you? We've all been there. A lack of means for transporting data is the number one hindrance to most people's ability to explore the universe. True story. But what if we here at JustPressPlay could alleviate that concern for you? No, we won't be babysitting your data but rather giving you a flash drive so you can take it with you. "But Lex," I hear you say, "how do I know the flash drive you'll give me can handle warp drive speeds and the rough and tumble lifestyle of a voyager among the stars?" Simple, we'll give you one in the shape of Star Trek veterans like Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner, not Chris Pine, sorry), Spock (Leonard Nimoy, not Zachary Quinto, again sorry), Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart, who else?), and Data.

We're giving away a copy of each character-shaped MIMOCO USB drive, and if you want to find out how you can win one, just keep reading.
