"Resident Evil 5" Demo—360 Owners Rejoice!

Thought you would have to wait until March 13 to get your hands on Capcom's Resident Evil 5? Well, wait for it... RE5 will be have a two-level playable demo available for download on Xbox Live starting January 26 (PS3 owners have to wait until February 2). Two levels? Listen, it's better than no levels.

What to expect?

Gamers will get a taste of what the latest game in the series is touting like two-player co-op, voice chat, new characters, a choice of the classic action or new action style of control, new weapons and new maps. The demo will feature two maps, "Assembly Place" and "Shanty Town." In the levels, you'll get to try out some of the aforementioned features and kill a whole bunch of infected zombies (Left 4 Dead who?). The co-op feature on these two levels will be either local split screen or two-player on Xbox Live. In co-op mode, you can be either badass Chris Redfield or his new partner, the even more badass Sheva Alomar.

You'll get a chance to go gun-to-stick with an army of weapon-wielding Manjini, the ginormous hooded Manjini Executioner and—my personal favorite—the chainsaw Manjini. What the #^%$ is a Manjini? They're some seriously fast infected humans who also know how to use melee weapons. And there are lots of 'em.

So fire up the download machine next week and hopefully this will keep you happy until March.
