The scene required Crowe and co-star Leonardo DiCaprio to make petty small talk. Leo asked Crowe about his flight and Crowe started talking about his in-flight movie. At first Crowe mentioned a certain movie he didn't name, and after one take, producer Donald DeLine ran over and told him he couldn't mention that movie.
Hilarious, if I say so myself. No offense to all the lovely Greek girls I know, but, y'know... Rrip, rrip. The line eventually got cut out. Probably for tonal reason more than a weird censorship reason, but still a quirk nonetheless. The weird "never mention non-WB film in a WB film" policy, though, is golden. If that's an actual law between all studios, Kevin Smith and Quentin Tarantino's scripts would be much shorter.

No kidding on the Kevin Smith front at least. Considering half the dialogue is based on Star Wars...we'd have a 45 minutes Clerks, chasing amy, etc. |

So skimming down the list, Crowe saw Poseidon and decided to use it. Remember Poseidon? $150 million movie that was a huge box office bomb on top of a disastrous critical reception? I don't think Crowe liked that remake either.
