"My Name is Bruce" Gets Budget Boost and Sequel PDF Print E-mail

It seems like My Name is Bruce has been "coming out" for forever. When a working version screened at CineVegas in July of last year, the film seemed almost complete. So what exactly is taking so long? Are they having a hard time finding a release for it?

No fret, because the actual reason for the delay is actually positive. At the Saturn Award, producer (and Dark Horse Comics founder) Mike Richardson said the reason for the slow drive to release is because of a budget boost that allowed for reshoots.

"We did our shoot, put it in the can and the studio that financed it liked it so much they gave us more money to do a second shoot. We beefed it up so it could go into the theaters."

My Name is Bruce will (hopefully) hit theaters this October.

But that's not all. Apparently, they liked it so much that a sequel is already planned, called My Name is Still Bruce. In the first film, residents of a small town in Oregon mistakes Campbell—the actor—as Ash and persuades him into fighting an ancient Chinese demon.
