Blame Harry Potter for Late "Quantum of Solace" PDF Print E-mail

Who knew that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince's release date change would have such a domino effect? First we had Twilight swooping in to Harry's old November 21 date, and now it's causing Quantum of Solace to open a week later than planned. Dumbledamn you, Potter!

MGM/Sony originally gave Quantum the November 7 date not so it could do that 007-morphing-into-NOV 7 trick on the trailer, but because it didn't want to be too close to Harry Potter, fearing that its box office reign would end early once Half-Blood Prince rolls out. With the recent move, however, they've decided to release Quantum on November 14th to place it closer to the Thanksgiving-Christmas season. I guess they're not too concerned about Twilight.

It doesn't end there. Not wanting to go against Bond, Universal quickly moved the Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott comedy Role Models to Nov. 7. Right now, Quantum's competition on the November 14 weekend are Soul Men and Baz Luhrmann's Australia, both of which it'll most likely destroy.

Not just destroy...obliterate. I am far too eager to see Bond 22.
