Nolan's black-and-white noir mystery The Following premiered at the Slamdance back in 1996, which helped put the director on the map. Since then, he has been supportive of Slamdance's commitment in discovering fresh young talents poised to become the next top director. With this January's Slamdance Film Festival being their 15th anniversary, the fest is holding a series of special events from now until next summer, where they're asking top directors to screen their first movies and participate in an open Q&A. On September 5th at Los Angeles' Bing Theater is a screening of The Following, followed by the Q&A with Nolan and then a hosted reception. Tickets are available for $25 each here. The following week (Sept 16th), Steven Soderbergh will screen his Slamdance entry Schizopolis at the IFC Center in New York, also with a Q&A afterwards.
