hooked torso.jpgAnd that organ is either cash or expedited legislation. It's a metaphor.

Torso, a film chronicling the late efforts of Elliot Ness as the Safety Inspector of Cleveland, may find itself going unnecessarily off-location. Unnecessarily in that everything they need to film is in Cleveland itself - necessary though considering the city/state's poor tax incentives for filmmakers. Seems like a shame, really. With David Fincher rumored to be directing the piece (he directed Se7en), a story about a serial killer leaving body parts around the Ohio city seems perfect for Fincher.

On top of that, supposedly Matt Damon's negotiating for the role of Elliot Ness.

David Fincher.

Matt Damon.

Murder.

Ohio...errrrr wait.

Pretty much (emphasis on pretty much) all of these things are awesome. If anyone can pull off a good gruesome thriller it's Fincher. His Zodiac/Se7en resume speaks to that.

So what do they need to stay in Cleveland? One of two things. The film tax incentive bill being passed needs to hurry its ass through the gauntlet and get itself passed. Or...someone needs to pony up some serious cash to cover the predicted $100 million bill. Seems kind of high for what should be a gritty thriller...I would have thought only $60 or $80 million....but maybe Damon's asking for lots of cash.

SOMEONE GIVE FINCHER SOME DAMNED MONEY!
