The film documents Michael Moore going on tour to colleges in swing states, encouraging Americans 18-29 to vote during the 2004 election (for Kerry, of course). The target was college slackers, hence the title. To encourage the slackers to show up, they were offered a clean change of underwear, Ramen noodles, and a promise that no event would start before noon and no politician would be allowed to speak. Instead of politicians, the slackers were encouraged to vote with live performances by artists like Tom Morello, REM, Eddie Vedder, Steve Earle and Joan Baez. Viggo Mortensen and Roseanne Barr were there also, rallying support. Hey, if the King of Gondor tells you to vote, you better goddamn vote. According to the press release, the free download and the low DVD price means that they won't be making money from the film (the budget was over $2 million). All Michael Moore wants in return is your soul Obama vote cheeseburger involvement in the upcoming election.
