In 2005, cell phone company Nokia introduced a short film competition for films shot with a cell phone video camera, encouraging and simultaneously celebrating the new guerilla means aspiring filmmakers can show off their talents with. Among the competitors was England's most promising young director, Shane Meadows (Dead Man's Shoes), with a short called The Stairwell that is less than 40 seconds long. Hard to know what the hell the film is really about in that short of a time, but what it does is prove how it's possible to make a decent-looking film with the most basic of tools available.
Today's Short is a daily feature on JustPressPlay showcasing wonderful short films found all around the web. If you have suggestions, hit us up . |
