It doesn't have much of a function, it's just sort of like an offline official website. There are stills, trailers, posters, character one-sheets, and even soundtrack samples. But the primary feature of the app is a virtual Carol that you can play with. Poke him, tickle him, push him down, feed him, make him sleep or make him dance. You're the king. Some of the things you can do with Carol might make him angry—like poking his belly or throwing rocks at him—while others will make him play with you. Put on a song from your iPod and Carol will dance to it. Rub his belly and he's giggle. The weirdest feature is that you can make Carol eat your photos or contacts—for whatever reason. That's what he's doing there in the picture. I made him eat me. It's oddly exhilarating to watch. Okay, so maybe it's not a very useful iPhone app, but it's pretty cool for promotional purposes and worth playing with for a few days as you wait for the movie to come out. Besides, it's free. Can't beat that. |
