passionpitTime for some more music videos: some recent and some a little older, some from artists ready for the limelight and some from artists already known and proven. If for nothing else, at least you can hear some choice tunes for free. Today, you can watch Passion Pit, Depeche Mode, Phoenix, Silversun Pickups, Moray McLaren, Bat for Lashes and Wild Light. Check them out after the break. The last edition can be seen here.

Phoenix – "Lisztomania"

This one’s been around for a while now even though the album just dropped, but it’s a damn catchy song and the video actually pays tribute to the somewhat obscure title source (the man more than the same-named “biopic”).

Wild Light – "California on My Mind
"

Note: JPP does not necessarily share the views of the music videos it features, particularly in glib attacks on its homebase state. In other words, sorry, Californians, but it still makes me chuckle. (profanity ahead)

Passion Pit – "The Reeling
"

One of the more memorable in the bunch, it’s a cool-looking clip for a really catchy track.

Bat for Lashes – "Daniel"

It’s like a choreographed dance pop video meets a 90s NIN/Tool video. And, yes, it’s almost as odd as that sounds.

Depeche Mode – "Wrong"

Not the greatest Depeche Mode song, but the video is impressive in execution. Directed by Patrick Daughters, who also did the bizarre clip for Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks.”

Moray McLaren – "We Got Time"

This one’s probably the winner of most creative video in the bunch. The animations were done by director David Wilson, reportedly all live on camera.

Silversun Pickups – "Panic Switch"

This song’s really starting to grow on me, and the video makes me nostalgic for hard-popping alt rock videos of yesteryear. The style rarely made for great videos, but they tended to amplify the belligerent mood. And that voice should not be coming out of that mouth!
