Wedding Crashers stars Owen Wilson (John Beckwith) and Vince Vaughn (Jeremy Grey) as divorce mediators and professional wedding crashers. There isn't one wedding this pair can't get into and after crashing wedding after wedding and sleeping with bridesmaid after bridesmaid they finally hit it big and decide to crash a politician's (Christopher Walken) daughter's wedding. Of course, as most comedies seem to do now, it takes a turn to romance as Owen Wilson falls in love with one of the bridesmaids. He finds out she has a boyfriend and does whatever he can to find his way into her heart, even if it means spending a weekend with her family and dragging his buddy with him.
I thought Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn did a great job in this movie. It's always laughs with either of these two comedians and in this movie they didn't disappoint. They delivered their lines well and acted out the parts great. These two don't even have to say anything in a movie to be funny, very good job. I don't think there would have been any other actors more appropriate for the roles they played.
Most of the other actors I have never heard of, maybe I just haven't seen enough movies, maybe they haven't done anything very big, or maybe they were new to acting, I have no idea. But what I do know is that most of them did a good job at playing their roles. I did hope for some comedy from Christopher Walken but was disappointed as his character is more serious in his scenes in this movie.
The movie moved along at a good pace. I hardly found myself checking to see how much longer the movie had to go and actually once it got near the end of the movie I was actually hoping for it to go on longer. Once you see this movie I'm sure you will know exactly what I mean.
Well it's hard to judge comedies because everyone has they're own sense of humor but I thought the movie was great. I found myself laughing more at the scenes with Vince Vaughn than I did with Owen Wilson but don't, in anyway, take that as a reason to not see this movie. It's not something that is a MUST SEE, but if you have the money I highly suggested watching this with your friends. If you have to wait for it to come out on DVD that's fine too, just make sure you check this movie out. The cameo at the end almost makes this movie a perfect movie.
The only thing that really takes away from comedies for me is how they always turn out into a romance story. There's never a comedy anymore that can just be straight comedy all the way through. I hope that's not the route they start going with most comedies coming out.
