Constantine Review

Constantine is the HellblazerÂť-inspired film starring Keanu Reeves. The movie is the story of John Constantine, a man fighting the battle against evil in Los Angeles. He is the man stuck in the eternal chess game between God and the Devil. Constantine does exorcisms and fights any half-breed demons that come to our mortal plane wearing human skin. While filling his habit of smoking 35 cigarettes a day, and meeting with one of God's Angels, he comes across a police woman named Angela seeking out Constantine to help her prove that her twin sister did not commit suicide. That's enough info, anymore would just give away the entire plot and ruin the movie.

The director, Francis Lawrence, coming from a music video background definitely uses the quick editing that is used for videos on MTV in Constantine. The visuals are just amazing; the CGI is flawless, and the production design is just beautiful. I had my worries about this movie seeing as John Constantine is supposed to be blonde, English and an unimaginable potty mouth. I think this version of John is just fine for the majority of audiences. In my opinion a great movie, if you like Blade or Hellboy you'll like this picture.
