Click, Clack, Moo - Cows That Type & More Fun on the Farm! Review

Click, Clack, Moo - Cows That Type & More Fun on the Farm! is a very cute and amusing collection of animated shorts containing read-along text used to entertain and teach children to read aged 3-9.

Disc 1 start things off with Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type, the story of a group of farm cows that find a typewriter in a barn and start typing letters to their master Farmer Brown requesting special items such as electric blankets and diving boards.

The Cow Who Fell in the Canal is the next short and takes place at a farm in Holland where a bored cow named Hendrika accidentally falls into a canal and floats to the local city. There she has the experience of a lifetime as she sees all the things she’s only heard about.

Next up is a retold version of Chicken Little. In this delightful adaptation, the titular character gets hit on the head by a fallen acorn and immediately believes that “the sky is falling.” During the confusion a hungry villain by the name of Foxy Loxy takes it upon himself to kidnap and eat Chicken Little and his friends.

I, Crocodile is the next cartoon and it tells the story of a hungry crocodile who gets relocated to Paris when Napoleon invades his hometown in Egypt. Tim Curry provides a touch of class with his skillful narration.

There are also 3 bonus stories starting with Hot Hippo which is about a hippopotamus who longs to live in a cool river because he is too hot. Then there is Waiting for Wings, a lovely piece which through the power of song and illustration we see the transformation of caterpillars into butterflies. The live action segment Let’s Give Kitty a Bath finishes off Disc 1 as two children decide to give their cat a bath but this task proves more difficult than they expected.

Disc 2 starts off with Giggle, Giggle, Quack, a pleasant little story where Farmer Brown goes on vacation leaving his brother Bob in charge of running things while he’s away. Dooby Dooby Moo continues the silliness as the animals on Farmer Brown’s farm learn of a talent show and decide to perform in it. Then there’s Duck for President where one of Farmer Brown’s ducks gets fed up and decides to run for political office.

Diary of a Worm is probably the most entertaining segment about a young earthworm who writes in a journal about his daily life, really cute stuff actually. Diary of a Fly is next and continues in a similar manner only this time it centers on a small fly who has big dreams.

Disc 3 continues the fun with Diary of a Spider. Much like the previous two stories this one details the everyday life of a spider. It is narrated by Two and a Half Men’s Angus T. Jones.

Roberto the Insect Architect is next and is about a termite who dreams of becoming an architect. This is followed by Norman the Doorman, the tale of doorman mouse whose hobby is sculpting. He then gets involved in an art contest. The Mysterious Tadpole continues the disc and is the story of a tadpole that is given to a boy as a birthday gift and soon grows to be a giant.

The last segment is a bonus story entitled The Story of the Dancing Frog. It chronicles the adventures of a woman who loses her husband only to find a new friend in a frog who dances his way around the world to fame and fortune.

Click, Clack, Moo - Cows That Type & More Fun on the Farm! is a wonderful collection of animated shorts that will be a sure-fire hit with the little ones. These are tales of fun and adventure filled with wit and humor no child can resist.
