Looney Tunes Super Stars: Foghorn Leghorn & Friends Review

The barnyard bigmouth rooster Foghorn Leghorn finally receives his own “best of” DVD, including fifteen classic cartoons; fourteen of which have never been on DVD before. Each short is about five to ten-minutes long, which is a good length to keep the young ones occupied for so many minutes. Although some of the shorts include some violent behavior (shotgun to the face, dynamite, land mines) which some parents might not like their child watching. Times were different back in the 1950’s so some of the language is a bit racy, but nothing extreme (it’s a Looney Tunes cartoon).

With the option to watch the cartoons in widescreen and not just in widescreen adds to the well re-mastered graphics. Loud colors and bright explosions look just as good as most cartoons today. Not to mention that the voice work is brilliant. Mel Blanc does the voice to a majority of the characters and yet sounds like a full cast. Something that might upset fans is that only about nine episodes really focus on Foghorn. The other six include other characters that steal the limelight including Goofy Gopher and Elmer Fudd. True fans of the classic cartoon will not be disappointed due to the fact that these are attractive and timeless shorts. I wouldn’t suggest this to the average Joe looking for a funny movie to watch with his buds (unless he’s a fan). Even for little kids this should be satisfying with the stupidity and obnoxious behavior from Foghorn. If your child does watch this, let’s hope he doesn’t learn his grammar from Foghorn. “I say-I say this be a classic!”
