Kill a Dragon Review

Common sense dictates that when a crime lord with a dynamite fetish demands that you return his stock that washed up on your shores, you return the dynamite. Do you really think that’s all the dynamite he has? Or that he can get? Of course, the real question is what a bunch of villagers would want with a bunch of dynamite. There is a point where keeping a load of dynamite purely on the principle, or so that the criminal won’t be able to use it, gives way to a desire to escape their wrath. Then again, if they just gave the dynamite back, there’d be no opportunity for a story about a small Asian town saved by an A-Team/Magnificent Seven hybrid. Kill a Dragon might seem silly when you let logic rip it apart like that, but if you can get past it, there’s an enjoyable, middle of the road martial arts action flick to be had.

A small Asian island town becomes the focus of a crime lord’s attentions when they hide a stash of his dynamite that washed up on their shores. Adamant to get it back, he threatens violent action unless it’s returned to him, and so the natives are left with little choice but to turn to planning extraordinaire Rick Masters (Jack Palance). With the help of a finely tuned fighting crew, Rick makes a battle plan and sticks it to the dynamite aficionado.

He's a TV junkie with a penchant for watching the same movie six times in one sitting. If you really want to understand him you need to have grown up on Sgt. Bilko, Alien, Jurassic Park and Five Easy Pieces playing in an infinite loop. Recommend something to him - he'll watch it.
