What makes little ol' Arya qualified to be your ferryman across the river of imagination towards film nirvana? He doesn't know either, but what he does know is that he likes to entertain people with his thoughts on the movies that fist-pounds his geeky heart (so far, it's working). He also wants to assure you that he doesn't always speak in third person. Arya likes to spend his Sundays with hot cocoa, a good book, long walks on the beach, and imaginary fights between Batman and Jesus in which the outcome should be darn obvious. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with a comic book collection that is always the most expensive thing to move whenever he gets a new apartment. |

He's a TV junkie with a penchant for watching the same movie six times in one sitting. If youreally want to understand him you need to have grown up on Sgt. Bilko, Alien, Jurassic Parkand Five Easy Pieces playing in an infinite loop. Recommend something to him - he'll watch it.

Editor - Music
Music is my passion and I tend to listen to anything and everything, as long as it's good. When it comes to most media though I'm what you would call a traditionalist. In other words I don't watch many movies that were shot in technicolor, I have a firm belief that popular music has gone down hill since the 1960s and I like my games in either the 8 or 16 bit variety.

If Anders Nelson could do what he wanted all the time, he'd spend the rest of his life in high school in 1985 or 1994 (one or the other), have an awesome vinyl and comic books collection, and own the majority of the late 70s/early 80s summer blockbuster/horror renaissance on VHS. He'd also have crazy adventures like in high school films, not like in reality.

Neil is a film school graduate, originally from England now living in New York. In addition to working with JustPressPlay.net Neil writes about film and television for Uinterview.com as well as being a columist and weekly podcast host at IFC.com. His free time is spent acting out scenes from Predator in the woods behind his house, playing all the different parts himself. His recreations never quite reach the dizzying heights of the actual film but he feels that it's the effort that's most important.

What do I do? Well, a critic is someone who can't do a creative task himself, so he/she must tear apart others who can actually do it. And since I can't play a guitar...
You'll find me in the movie section from time to time, but it's music that absorbs most of my free time. Once close-minded to solely accepting the 90s grunge and hard rock that I was weaned on, my palette opened wide in high school and college, and years later, I'm now committed to listening to whatever I come across now. Except for Nickelback and the Pussycat Dolls. Keep that junk away. Please.

Mark, a film school student and avid film watcher, is glad to join the staff of JustPressPlay. He is a budding writer, director, and editor and loves all kinds of films. His favorite film of all time is F.W. Murnau's Sunrise. He is a big fan of Martin Scorsese, the Coen Brothers, Woody Allen (a permanent representative for New York's neurotic jews) Michael Bay (yes, Michael Bay, the man knows his way around an action sequence - I abhorred Transformers though), and countless other talented people in the film industry. When not writing about movies, making movies, or watching them, Mark prefers the company of his friends and loved ones. And the occasional novel or video game.

I am a former intern at Comedy Central. I think that Christopher Eccleston was severely underrated as Doctor Who, and I miss Rose since she got stuck in another parallel universe. I still haven’t seen The Sopranos, but I own season 2 of Flavor of Love on DVD. No, seriously, I do, and I still can’t believe that one girl pooped on the floor. Gross. Anyways, I wish that life was a musical like Glee, though I think that if my inner thoughts were put to song, my friends and co-workers would look at me very differently. To close this up on a movie related note, Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors, and I love Edward Scissorhands because it taught me that the best love stories sometimes don’t have happy endings. I love writing about movies and television, and I hope all you lovely, lovely readers enjoy what I write.

Robert is obsessed with movies. Like Agent Mulder is obsessed with aliens, and like the Cookie Monster loves his cookies, Robert is a film addict. If he goes too long without seeing a movie, he has withdrawal pains. From his modest early days watching old black and white films on a 3 channel TV, he can't get enough of movies, good or bad. He has a background in advertising and a long history of freelance writing but there's nothing he loves to write about more than movies. Let him dissect a film and he's a happy man. His favorite movie stars of all time are the Marx Brothers. He hates Cheech and Chong. And on an unrelated note he loves chocolate. Who doesn't?

Marissa is very serious about her movies. So much so that as a kid, she watched her VHS tapes over and over again until they broke. These days, some of her favorite films include: Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, The Shawshank Redemption, The Color Purple, Pulp Fiction, Boogie Nights, and Fight Club. And many more there isn’t space enough to list. A huge Alan Ball fan, Six Feet Under is her favorite TV show of all time, with The L Word and Sex and the City coming in second and third, respectively. Always up for discovering a new favorite, she also enjoys True Blood, Nurse Jackie, and Mad Men. Marissa has a background in writing, editing, and cinema studies.

Randall is a movie addict plain and simple. Motion pictures are his passion and he is very serious about it. A product of the 1980s, his first cinematic experience was seeing Ghostbusters II with his parents at the tender age of 4. Since then he has grown very fond of Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, Robert Zemeckis, Joe Dante, Sam Raimi, and the Coen Bros. His favorite movies include the Back to the Future Trilogy, Jurassic Park, Forrest Gump, Rain Man, Glengarry Glen Ross, and many others. |

If there was ever a person in need of an intervention for video games, it’s this guy. Specializing in anything you can play on a handheld game system, you will never find me without ether a PSP, DS, or 3DS in my pocket. From the age of 4, playing Street Fighter Alpha 2 on a Super Nintendo there has never been anything that has made me stop playing, even almost cutting off the top of my thumb didn’t stop me from waiting outside in the cold for a midnight release at GameStop and gaming until the sun rose. My favorite game series are Pokémon and Ratchet & Clank and my favorite game systems are the Nintendo DS and Xbox 360.

Yes, Lee is dressed like Shosanna Dreyfus from Inglourious Basterds in this picture. That should give you some idea of her passion for film and pop culture. She actually attended NYU for Film & TV Production, but that proved a mostly useless endeavor, so she now works mostly in publishing. She writes screenplays in her spare time, and also muses on her blog, "Cinema and Caffeine". Her other primary obsessions in life are Doctor Who, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Arsenal Football Club. If you see her at the Blind Pig in New York on a game day, say hello—unless you’re a Manchester United fan. |

I grew up in the Midwest and couldn't be prouder of it. There wasn't a whole lot to do though, and since not being athletic was one of my favorite pastimes, watching movies became a hobby. The hobby turned into a career pursuit, which led me to the east coast. I'm now excited that I get to share my two cents on movies. I love watching them as much as I do talking about them. Every movie has at least one good aspect to it, and I aim to find it.

I feel that movies can be great in many ways. I feel that a great movie could be an artistic masterpiece or a guns-a'blazin' roller-coaster, pure magic or pure camp. There is another type of film, which I detest more than those which are horrible - Those which are mediocre, unremarkable. If I cannot form the words for why I disliked a movie, why I felt nothing for it, why I felt I shouldn't have seen it, then it has truly been a waste of everyone's money and time, including my own.
