Hello, George: Take a Gander at Oliver Stone's First Couple

Here we have the first pic of Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Banks as George W. and Laura Bush, from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. The two play America's first couple in Oliver Stone's Bush biopic, strikingly titled W.

I know this is not supposed to be a comedy, but this movie is going to be hilarious. That one pic alone cracks me up. There's a reason why biopics tend to be made near or after the real person's death. The fact that he looks nothing like Bush is rather distracting, but what's going to hurt it even more is the fact that Dubya has become such a national punchline that any impersonation, serious or not, is bound to look silly. On the flip side, since the President possesses that "aww, shucks" persona and jokes around with his Staff anyway, maybe a funny portrayal won't be that bad.

So how about it, kids? Josh Brolin is a good actor, but is he good enough to pull this off?
